Akella launches official website for Metalheart: Replicants Rampage

Akella, mostly known for the naval titles like Pirates of the Caribbean and Sea Dogs, is launching a new website for the Metalheart: Replicants Rampage project.

Metalheart: Replicants Rampage is a tactical role-playing game set on a deserted planet where the main characters find themselves after the spaceship crash. The game follows the paths of the old-school tactics/RPG classics, but adds new unique features to the traditional gameplay. Metalheart: Replicants Rampage provides a strong sci-fi story with intriguing cyberpunk influences, sophisticated turn-based combat, random quest generator with the unbelievable tasks variations, a complex character parameter system, and plenty of other wonders to make hardcore RPG fans amazed.

The game is published by Akella in Russia. The publisher outside Russia will be announced later. Metalheart: Replicants Rampage is scheduled for a Spring 2004 release.

BASINGSTOKE, England (September 12th 2005) – Developed by Akella and distributed exclusively by KOCH MEDIA in the UK, METAL HEART: REPLICANTS RAMPAGE will release this month on PC CDROM priced at £19.99. This turn based, isometric role play game, strands the player on a remote planet, under the grip of a tyrannical corporate empire. Their goal is to return home, but as an outsider to an entire planet, things are not that simple.

After a freak deep space magnetic storm, Sheris Sheridan and Lanthan Signey find themselves catapulted and stranded on the unknown planet of Protion. Sole source of the super powerful combustible, Tactonium; Protion is a strategic asset in the galaxy and under the firm control of a tyrannical Empire, who has enslaved the entire population.

In order to escape the planets clutches, Sheridan and Signey must overcome many challenges and dangerous situations, ultimately uniting the four factions of humans, mutants, cyborgs and nomads in an attempt to overthrow the Empire and return home.* Turn based combat system, use action points strategically to over come enemies! * Dozens of highly detailed Non Playing Characters, who unveil the terrible plots of the Empire ... * Control a party of up to six characters to solve puzzles and combat foes .. * Explore a huge cyber-punk world, beautifully rendered, with over 150 locations. * Characters gain experience and train skills, enhancing their abilities with more than 600 high-tech implants and a huge arsenal of destructive weaponary.
