Dottie Flowers
Description
Dottie Flowers is a fangame created by a single developer and based on the game Turrican. Like Turrican, the gameplay of Dottie Flowers primarly consists of progressing through stages while platforming and firing large amounts of laser-like bullets. In Dottie Flowers, the player's main weapon is a high-tech magic broomstick and a combo counter is present in the right-hand corner of the screen, tracking how many hits the player has inflicted on enemies without taking damage themselves.
Dottie Flowers was initially exclusive to physical Super Nintendo Entertainment System cartridges sent to 100 people who mailed in postcards to a physical address provided at the end of a digitally-released Dottie Flowers demo. However, in March 2024, an emulator download for the game was made available on the game's official webpage.
The game takes place in Cologne, Germany, where Dottie Flower's developer grew up and where some of the games created by the Turrican developers, Rainbow Arts Software GmbH, were made.

Trivia
The idea to have the game be exclusively released on 100 physical copies that could only be won by a mail-in contest was inspired by Satellaview score contests run in the 1990s.
