Infiniminer

aka: Infiniminer: The Final Blockening
Moby ID: 214999

Description

Infiniminer is a multiplayer first-person mining game, where 2 teams compete for gathering minerals. The first team that gets a certain amount of cash (usually $10,000) from their minerals, wins. Players can not only mine directly, but also build infrastructure to help their team, or even sabotage their adversaries.

Minerals are divided into 2 categories: ore and loot. While loot increases the player's money and are automatically given to their team once the player reaches the surface (above altitude 0), ore can be used to construct new blocks that may help the player and their team descend to get more loot. Blocks include basic solid blocks, force fields that block adversaries but not teammates, ladders, jump modules, shock blocks for killing trespassers, banks for storing ores, beacons for marking locations and explosives.

The player moves with the WASD keys and uses E to switch their main tool. They mine blocks instantly by clicking on them with the mouse, though there is a cooldown between each broken block (the miner class has a much lower cooldown compared to the others). They can also use the placer tool to place blocks using their acquired ores.

When joining or creating a new server, the player chooses their team (red or blue) and character class, those being miner, prospector, engineer or sapper. Miners mine very fast and have a big storage for loot, but have limited building capabilities, being able to only build the most basic blocks. Prospectors can use their "prosprectron" tool to help guide their teammates. Engineers have a large storage for ores, can build many different blocks and deconstruct blocks made by their teammates, but lack the mining speed of miners and their large loot storage. Sappers are limited in their mining and building capabilities, but are the only class that can build explosives, which can be used to clean large volumes of soil as well as sabotage adversary's infrastructure, or even kill them with explosives.
