Manor of Madness
Description
Manor of Madness is a text adventure in which the player takes the role of crack Soviet agent Leonid Smirnoff who has been assigned to recover the "Manhattan Project". This is a top secret list of Soviet spies working undercover in the United States. After being eluded many times before, the list is finally traced to the insane asylum of a French psychologist Dr. Iyam M. Potti, located deep in the mists of the Yorkshire moors. Upon trying to gain access to the grounds, however, the player gets bopped on the head by an escaping lunatic and wakes up in a strange green room.
The player inputs all actions via verb-noun commands with the keyboard to interact with the surroundings, such as "OPEN TRUNK". To navigate through the locations in the game use "(N)ORTH", "(S)OUTH", "(E)AST", "(W)EST", "(U)P" and "(D)OWN". Type "(R)edisplay" to repeat the current location description. The command "EXAMINE" makes it possible to look at objects whilst "TAKE" and "DROP" can be used to manipulate them. Use "HELP" to get hints if stuck. "(I)NVENTORY" will list the objects the player is carrying.
"SAVE" to save current game progress, "LOAD" to load a saved game, and "QUIT" aborts the current game.
