Alex Higgins World Pool

aka: Pool Billard
Moby ID: 207678

Description

Play against a friend in a game of traditional pool bearing the name and likeness of the legendary snooker player. Originally scheduled for release as simply 'Pool', and something of a follow-up to Amsoft's earlier 'Snooker' game, it is heavily based on the same engine with different rules applied to reflect the differences between the two games.

Trivia

Planned as the follow-up to their earlier 'Snooker' title, Gem were in the process of finalising the game as 'Pool' when Amsoft secured the rights to use the likeness of Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins - something of a maverick in the sport of snooker and arguably the first box office attraction that the sport had. The release was delayed before being issued with a changed loading screen. The original loading screen can still be found on the German release (which did not use the Higgins' licence).
