Chair-Chaser

Moby ID: 196728

Description

On the 1st of June 2002, the 8th president of Okamoto Office Furniture Corporation, Soichiro Okamoto, dies of a heart attack. Days later, his will is officially read, and demands that his replacement be found via Chair Chase: a race series whose only rule is "never release your butt from the chair."

By the 7th of July, five finalists are gathered, and only the three remaining races of the competition stand between them and the presidency of Okamoto Office Furniture Corporation.

A student game from the Konami Computer Entertainment School in Osaka, and released as freeware as part of the 2002 CESA Amateur Game Awards, Chair Chase features five characters (one of whom is a penguin mascot) each racing on their own piece of office furniture, with their own stats, across three office building-themed race tracks.
