Spitfire Attack

Moby ID: 19177

Description

In this game, you are an American fighter pilot. Your mission is to shoot down enemy planes, shoot enemy ammo dumps (they look like little black houses) and enemy anti-aircraft guns (they kinda look like sundials). If you fly down too long, you will get a low altitude warning. If you don't correct, you will crash. You can also be shot down by anti-aircraft guns and enemy planes. Push left and right to go those directions but push up to go down and down to go up. Push the fire button to fire machine guns.

Trivia

Flight Commander

This game was packaged with the Flight Commander controller. The controller was designed to look like a fighter plane's mounted machine-gun but worked like a digital joystick. The game could be played with a regular joystick. This game was not sold separately. Here is a picture of the Flight Commander controller at AtariAge.com.

Power Arcade Series

Spitfire Attack was part of Milton Bradley's Power Arcade series. This series was intended for games released with special controllers which functioned like a regular joystick. The controllers Cosmic Commander (with the game Survival Run) and Flight Commander (with the game Spitfire Attack) were released. Armored Commander (with the game Tank Blitz) was advertised but never released.

Replacement

If you lost or broke your Spitfire Attack cartridge, you could write to Milton Bradley for a replacement for $20.00.

Sticker

The Spitfire Attack cart did not have the end sticker on it when you got it. The Flight Commander came with sticker sheets and one of them was the cart's end sticker that you had to apply yourself. The cart already had the front picture sticker.
