Pixel & Vega in Crunch Time is a match three game with with a story unfolding in real-time on video monitors visible on next to the game field as the player clears blocks.

Futuracorp's newest science fiction MMO has entered Crunch Time and its code is suddenly being ravaged by bugs and corrupt data, seemingly of alien origin. Pixel drags Vega into the fray, controlled by the player's actions as Pixel keeps both the player and Vega updated on the status of the MMO.

Matching three or more blocks and creating chains raise the player's score, which progresses the narrative. Pixel, Vega and a selection of other characters are fully voice-acted and animated as they react to the player's actions with witty commentary and pop culture references. There is no timer and no game over state, as the board resets if there are no moves left. The game progresses continually from start to finish without any level loads, with the storytelling progressing naturally along the way.
