Roman Conquest
Description
Roman Conquest is a 1-player strategy game for the 8-bit Atari.
The player controls a Roman legion, and attempts to conquer and colonize at least 20 provinces to appease Julius Caesar. The player starts with 6000 Centurions, and must purchase swords, shields, horses, and sandals to supply their forces for marching and attacking. Each turn, the player can advance, where they encounter a foreign colony with a strength of 1 - 9. These colonies can be attacked, or the player can choose to leave. If the player attacks successfully, they gain citizens, slaves, and the city. If the player loses, they lose Centurions. Citizens can be drafted as new Centurions, and slaves can be sold. Each time the player advances, they must pay their troops 1 Sesterces per Centurion. It's game over if the player runs out of money.
