Description
Galactic Civilizations is a space-based "4X" strategy game.
The colony ship Santa Maria encountered a "cosmic string" interacting with its engine, causing a wormhole to fling it into an unknown galaxy. In that galaxy, the player needs to colonize worlds to build up a new civilization.
Gameplay takes place on a randomly generated map, and is turn based. Players need to colonize worlds, set taxes, balance spending into different domains that will help the civilization's development, and choose how to deal with the many issues that come along the way, including how to deal with the other species inhabiting the galaxy.
