When starting you are dropped into a child's room with a lot of Yuki merchandise.

Interact with the box in the center to open it up and get Yuki to fly out and land on it.

Level 1 - You have to not only avoid enemies and their projectiles, but also environmental dangers like lasers, obstacles or falling debri.

Throughout the levels you will find some spheres that sort of look like your companion, that when opened give you an option for an upgrade, between 3 options.

Level 2.

When dying, Yuki will drop on the floor with the gathered power up flying off and being lost...

... and then getting a progress bar on how far in the game you've gone, along with the options of immediately restarting, or going to the workshop to buy permanent upgrades with the blue orbs gathered while playing.
