Birdland

Birdland is a text-based young adult adventure game. It follows the adventures of Bridget Leaside, a teenager sent by her parents to a summer camp where she is spending her time in misery, counting days until she can finally go home. One night, she starts having strange dreams in which she gets to be all kinds of characters—sheriffs, hockey players, and musicians, to name a few—in a mysterious world populated by anthropomorphic birds. The next day, she meets Bell Park, a teenage detective, and the two soon become friends. Between the odd dreams and the time she spends with Bell, Bridget finds that her life at the camp is becoming more manageable. But there is also something ominous in the air, and it will be up to Bridget and Bell to save the camp (and perhaps the world) from an impending otherworldly threat. Similarly to other games made with Twine, gameplay in Birdland consists of making choices. There is a slight RPG element, in that decisions made by Bridget when dreaming will affect a number of attributes, which in turn determine the choices available to her in waking hours. The main storyline is largely linear, but there are various branches to explore based on the player's choices.
