Trace Effects
Description
Trace Effects is an educational 3D adventure game made to teach English in a modern and interactive way.
Players take control of Trace, a student who accidentally sent himself into the past and must now find a way to return to his own time.
There are 7 chapters of the main game and the gameplay involves talking to characters and using action words and objects in the right places to progress through the game. Depending on the dialogue choices players make, the people they will talk to, as well as Trace, will have a different tone to their speech, which will be hinted in the game (Happy, friendly, unsure, e.t.c.)
The choices players make will also affect how many points they receive in the chapter. At times, the game will have players talk to characters who will then ask them to answer simple questions that are connected to the story.
Just like with coursebooks, completing a chapter will reveal what players have learned to say and do based on their gameplay and will allow players to read a graphic novel of the chapter they've completed.
There are additional activites included with the main game, such as:* Language Practice activities based on all 7 chapters which aim to improve the player's reading, listening and writing skills.
- Word Soup: a game where players think of as many words as possible within 2 minutes using a combination of letters.
- Phrases in Space: a game where players take turns choosing consonants and buying vowels to complete a phrase.
