The game starts with a never ending bridge. Once the loading and verifying the files ends I am shown a door and clicking on that starts the game. This is the night time scene, during daylight hours the bridge and columns are sandstone coloured
thumbnail
Before playing I am shown the latest news.
thumbnail
The game's health warning
thumbnail
The game is keyboard controlled. The mouse is used to look around. Left mouse button currently swings a sword, the right triggers a sprint and the mouse wheel zooms in and out
thumbnail
I am just starting the game for the first time and there is a hint that there may be birthday gifts.
thumbnail
I named my character Victoria and there are other customisation options available most, it seems, are to do with my on-line profile and how I am seen when interacting with other players
thumbnail
So this is early on in the game and I have just been advised of the movement controls
thumbnail
These are options when taking a photo
thumbnail
Fruit, flowers, herbs and suchlike are scattered around. They are reasonably easy to find because they sparkle. The F key is used to harvest them
thumbnail
There is no user interface in this scene, this is because every so often I hit a part of the game where a cut scene is shown. This is early in the game and Paimon, the little fairy girl, is going to take me to that shrine in the middle distance
thumbnail
This is Paimon. She is a sort of companion/guide
thumbnail
The game is split into chapters
thumbnail
OK. I died in the easiest bit of the game. I was on the edge of a cliff and because I am unfamiliar with t he controls I jumped off, twice. This is just so you know it is possible and that your character can be revived
thumbnail
I did not capture any screenshots from the game's opening sequence. This is what you all missed
thumbnail
One of the game's load screens
thumbnail
There is an inventory. The icons across the top of the screen split items across the following categories - weapons, artifacts, character development items, food, materials, gadgets, quests, precious items and furnishings
thumbnail
The in-game map
thumbnail
Here I am learning combat. Left mouse button swings the sword. E releases an elemental skill, Q does something similar but it is more powerful and needs to recharge
thumbnail
There are many, many achievements. Each of the tabs on the left leads to a long list like this
thumbnail
Another cut scene in the Whispering Woods. This is StormTerror the dragon and I meet him/her/it again later
thumbnail
This is how the game presents dialogue choices
thumbnail
I meet Amber. She is an archer and will join me and become a companion character. I will be able to upgrade her weapons and/or swap to her character
thumbnail
My main character is Victoria. I select her by pressing the 1 key. Pressing 2 swaps to Amber and here I am being taught how to use her bow to hit targets at a distance
thumbnail
Occasionally I come across chests and so far they have all held goodies
thumbnail
Pressing G shows unviewed tutorials
thumbnail
I now have two party members, to clear this hilichurl camp I use Amber to attack from a distance then swap to Victoria for sword combat
thumbnail
Equipping Victoria with her first artifact
thumbnail
A minor quest. On the outskirts of the city I meet Lynn who is a survival specialist and she sets me the task of cooking. This means going into the inventory, selecting items and putting them in the pot
thumbnail
The V key enables a navigation aid. Here it is taking me to Amber's location in the city
thumbnail
Windgliding. Walk to the edge of a dangerous drop, step off, press SPACE and fly. WASD are used to navigate
thumbnail
An unexpected dogfight with a dragon
thumbnail
A cut scene showing, in the foreground, Jean - leader of the Knights of Favinious and Lisa the librarian
thumbnail
I have played for a couple of hours and I am still unlocking features.
thumbnail
The shop is where real world cash can be used
