To Preserve, Protect and Defend
Description
To Preserve, Protect and Defend is an educational game about the U.S. Constitution.
You have been invited by James Madison to Philadelphia to attend the Constitutional Convention. Roger Sherman has recommended you to protect the newly written Constitution until it is signed tomorrow. Your job is to guard it in the state house from 6:00 am until 9:00 pm. During that time you must greet visitors and decide who to let into the building. You must also keep track of the document and ensure no harm comes to it.
There are 2 levels of difficulty based upon how quickly time progresses. People will knock on the door on the Main Hall, and ask to see the Constitution. Players must check the visitor's identity against a list of real delegates, and only allow the correct people to view the document. Some people will be impostors, and the player must confirm their identity by comparing their story to the real historical figure.
The player must check on the Constitution regularly, as it can become damaged by impostors or freak accidents. When that occurs, the damage must be fixed. To do that, they player must study Constitutional notes, and answer questions correctly about the U.S. Constitution. James Madison can assist the player if help is needed.
The goal is to successfully guide the Constitution through the day, so that it can be properly signed the next morning.
