Engineer

Engineer is a bridge construction game for the TRS-80.

The player must create a bridge from two points located at the top of the screen, with a large valley in between them. Each turn, the player can place a trestle horizontally, vertically, or at a 45 degree angle. An acrophobic engineer inspects the player's work, and all trestle pieces must be placed below the level of his feet. Each turn, the engineer moves a random distance alternating between the left and right, and the player must take care not to trap the engineer. All trestles must be placed on existing ground, and horizontal or 45 degree facing trestles must connect with another trestle on both ends. Victory is obtained by completing the bridge, with the goal to minimize the number of turns this requires.
