Loving Deads: House of the Dead EX
Description
Loving Deads: House of the Dead EX is a spin-off entry in the House of the Dead series of light gun arcade games. The game differs from the main series in that it is centered around mini-games and has a lighter, more humorous tone. The game tells the story of two zombies, the prison guard Zobio and the prisoner Zobiko, who fall in love and attempt to escape from the prison. To finish the game and help the zombies reach their freedom four stages have to be completed, each with three or four missions. For each mission, the player chooses one of two mini-games along a branched path.
The game is designed to be played by couples who cooperate in completing the missions. Depending on the mini-game, either light gun or pedals are used. The aim of each mini-game is to reach a quota within the time limit or else a life will be lost. Each player has a hand that stretches out across the screen as points are scored and when they reach each other the mission is completed. Mini-games that use light guns involve shooting apples from a tree so that they fall into baskets of the zombies that walk across the screen and hammering nails into a boarded-up door to prevent zombies from breaking through. Among the mini-games that use pedals, there is a rhythm action dancing game, a spider stomping game and a runner game where jumps have to be timed.
