Ostrich
Description
Ostrich is a chess program. Initially it ran on a Data General Supernova mainframe, but in 1982 it became the first chess program to run on multiple mainframes in parallel. The name of the program refers to the head-in-the-sand tactics the AI employs in times of crisis. The program played fifteen American Computer Chess tournaments and the first five World Computer Chess Championships from 1972 to 1987.
