Yu-Gi-Oh!: Power of Chaos - Kaiba the Revenge

The Good
For those who do not know how to play and did not play Yugi the Destiny, the tutorial mode is an excellent way to learn the game. It is straightforward and easy to use.

The new high-tech graphics are very nice. Also, the animations really help with the game... the animations of Kaiba when you attack him are much better than in the previous game. Other than the animations being better, graphics are really on par with Yugi the Destiny.

Gameplay has improved with this game in that the battles are much more challenging to win. In the first game, I could win perhaps 80% of the games... in this one, I have difficulty winning about 25%. The AI is really that much better and the cards that are in the game really make that much difference. There are so many cards that improve stats that my first game against Kaiba, he pumped a card so much (5 spell cards) that it had about 7000 atk while I had less life points than him and somewhere around 14000 if I had more life points than him! Needless to say, I lost my first game against him.

Kaiba's deck seems to change much more regularly than Yugi's did in the previous game, though he usually has certain cards in his deck in every game. With the new cards that let you view his deck, it is easy to see how much his deck changes.

I also really like that the game imports all your cards from Yugi the Destiny so you don't feel like you have to start over with this game.

The Bad
Sound in this game is almost as bad as in Yugi the Destiny as far as the voiceovers go. The talking by Kaiba before and after the games is not as bad (smaller things to say) as in Yugi the Destiny, but they still are annoying since you can't turn them off and there is not much variety. In the battles themselves, you will quickly get annoyed at hearing Kaiba saying different things when you activate a spell card, or he summons different monsters, or whatever. There are two cards that you will really hate having him play as well... Vorse Riders and La Jinn. He usually plays these each game and he has a long thing to say before he does which is very annoying.

Only battling one person isn't that nice, just like when you could only battle Yugi in the first game. However, it really is not that bad since he's so challenging.

The Bottom Line
For those who have played Yugi the Destiny and enjoyed it, you definitely need to get this game. It is definitely worth it with the new cards and the better AI.

If you haven't played Yugi the Destiny, I would strongly recommend starting with that one even if you're a really good Yugioh player because of the challenge of this game. The main reason for that for the really good players is that you can get some good cards in Yugi and transfer them. It would be very hard to win this game very often without transferring cards from Yugi.
