Nora Handa lives with Shachi Yuuri, a girl his mom adopted when they were little kids. Since Nora's mom's passing, these two students have lived alone, getting by with a little help from their friends and neighbors. And luckily for Nora, Shachi turned out to be a pretty mean cook.

Nora's academy life isn't so bad either. He's got a great posse of friends, including the seemingly wild but bubbly Yuuki Asuhara, always on hand to give advice, and Michi Kuroki, his old childhood friend, now an honor student and academy monitor.

One day, walking through the park on his way to academy, Nora bumps into a girl called Patricia. She is in fact a Princess of the Netherworld, the place where souls go after shuffling off this mortal coil, and is here in our world on an urgent mission. To grant death to all living things. Or so she says, before collapsing on the ground. Surrounded by all the living things on the surface, it's more than her Netherworldian being can bear. Nora, kind soul that he is, helps her recover.
