There are six time trial courses and three difficulty settings

Prior to each race, whatever game mode, there's a screen like this showing the course while a monochrome video of the course runs in the background

All races begin at the starting gate

As the racer's energy decreases they make an increasingly loud panting noise

This is the Japanese course. It's beside a river and if the player gets into the water they fall off their bike

After every race there's an optional replay.

The player did not win their race so they are no longer in a championship
