Princess Maker: Fairy Tales Come True
PlayStation version
The Most realistic of the Princess Makers turns out to be the most boring of them
The Good
The graphics have taken a HUGE upgrade since Princess Maker 2. Immediately you will notice far more colors and depth in details. Also the sprites when you go to town and school have a lot more detail then the previous princess maker games. Also the other girls have a lot more detail too.
The music has been upgraded to full cd which sounds great! Also the game has been given voice acting for the daughter and the other girls. The father however is still completely silent.
The father is now no longer a Hero that makes a pitiful salary. You can choose what kind of man the father is like a banker or fallen noble and so forth so that adds a more personal touch to the father figure.
The schooling system is now more reasonably priced then Princess Maker 2 though you still have to work a bit to go there. But still it's a lot more balanced. Plus there is tests to go along with it.
The daughter is now more emotional and other stuff that girls are. She has more emotional cranks and has dispositions. Like love and such.
The game is longer then Princess Maker 2 so that makes the time with the daughter a lot better and the game seems to flow a bit better since it's longer. Or at least feels longer.
There's bunny girl and cat girl suits. A+ for the most amusing suits
The Bad
Now for the bad things. The adventuring part is COMPLETELY GONE! There is NO Adventuring to be had in Princess Maker 3! Which is a huge disappointment after Princess Maker 1 and 2. Though there are still fencing classes in the game though I have no idea why'd you need them since you don't actually fight anything.
The daughter is now more often then not even MORE disobedient which can count as a good thing or a bad thing. It certainly makes it more realistic but where's the option to beat them with the belt?
Most fairy or otherwise supernatural items are pretty much gone there's still some elements of it but it's nowhere near Princess Maker 2.
Some stuff is actually cut out of the playstation version since it was the first version out. The PC And Saturn Versions are the complete ones and have some added stuff.
The Bottom Line
In the end it does better Princess Maker 2 in audio and visuals and length along with realism but the lacking of the adventure elements make it inferior and less fun then Princess Maker 2. If your a fan however it's still worth a play through. I give it a 7/10 for innovation in some parts though the lack of adventuring and other mystical properties make me have to give it the 7/10. Could have been a 9/10 with adventuring and more items to buy.
