TrackWords
Description
TrackWords is a single player, freeware word game based on a game of the same name which appears in a book called "The Oxford A to Z of Word Games". It is played on a grid containing random letters from which the player must construct words from adjacent letters. The original game uses a 3x3 grid but the author does not consider that challenging enough so this game has 3x3, 4x4 and 5x5 grids to play on.
The game comes with its own dictionary containing over eighty seven thousand words plus it also has functionality allowing the player to add their own words which are held in a separate list. The game has a word search function called 'Joshua' which is used to find and count all the words that can be made, this is used to calculate the player's score which is based on the percentage of words found. Whenever the player enters a word that does not appear in the game's dictionary it is queried by Joshua and if the player allows the word it is added to the user's word list
Other options include playing a timed game, setting the minimum word length, a fast game and the ability to play either a random or a specific numbered game (the author claims a potential four billion possible games can be played).
