Halley Wars

The Good
For 1991, Halley Wars is a great addition to the Game Gear library. This vertical shooter has the power ups for a high powered, obstacle dodging flight. It is simple, but very fun with missiles, shields, and extra cannons. Also, they allow an option for turbo on your shooting button. The game has a decent soundtrack and sound quality is good for the Game Gear.

The Bad
It is hard to say, the game is straightforward, and insight of a story could be nice. Backgrounds are a little on the bland side. Honestly, there is not much here to dislike.

The Bottom Line
Halley Wars is a straightforward, vertical shooter that has the intensity of other classics in its genre. You are guaranteed to have fun, if you are a fan of shoot 'em ups. Back in 1991, I bet it was a great to be able to take that kind of experience with you anywhere.
