I tried to start this game by pressing Shift-7 like the description says, but nothing happens. Is Old Snakey still there for anyone else, because I haven't found any indication that the game was taken down.

You should first go into options and enable keyboard shortcuts, then go to the Labs tab and enable Old Snakey. Just tried it now and it works.
