I was wondering about this;

1) In the Cover Art there's the Alternative Software release tape version of the UK, Germany and Italy release for the C64, but in the release-info there's only this;

Published by: Dinamic Software.

Developed by: Dinamic Software.

Country: Spain.

Release Date: 1987

Should not the Alternative Software Release be included in release-info as well?

2) What for release is the Alternative Software release?* A budget Release? Is not that Europe as well? And are there only one version or two versions of this release?

3) The game has also been published by Imagine Software for the C64 THRICE;

a)

Published by: Imagine Software.

Developed by: Dinamic Software.

Country: United Kingdom

Release Date: 1987

EAN-13:

Comment: Cassette Double. No flags on the back of the inlay.

b)

Published by: Imagine Software.

Developed by: Dinamic Software.

Country: United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France.**

Release Date: 1987

EAN-13:

Comment: Cassette Double.

Published by: Imagine Software.

Developed by: Dinamic Software.

Country: United Kingdom

Release Date: 1987

EAN-13:

Comment: Cassette Double.

c)

Published by: Imagine Software.

Developed by: Dinamic Software.

Country: United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France.**

Release Date: 1987

EAN-13:

Comment: Jewel Square box, Floppy Disk 5.25

Source:

  • I only know the Imagine Software release for the UK and all for this game.

** Or should Europe be more logical as Region?

PS: I have the 5.25 Floppy Disk in my possession.

About the Alternative Software release for the C64. As far I have seen I cannot find the right date for it. 1989? Anyone else a bit more lucky?

Now about the MSX releases: Did you know that there different releases; http://www.ebay.com/itm/MSX-FREDDY-HARDEST-COMPLETO-VERSION-ESPANOLA-/262674149118 and http://www.ebay.com/itm/FREDDY-HARDEST-MSX-VERSION-ESPANOLA-/142188767700?_ul=BR

Edit:Is not it United Kingdom AND Italia; http://www.mobygames.com/game/freddy-hardest/cover-art/gameCoverId,118720/

If you provide coherent sources for the two Imagine tape releases here with comments in actual English, I (or someone) will WiP the second, rejected release submission.

Okay. I will try;

The differences between the UK and the European release:

As you can see here; http://www.thelegacy.de/Museum/2063/ there are several country flags on the back of the European tape release. That means that the instruction manual is in several languages; English, German and French. 3 most widely spoken languages in Europe.

However, you may have noticed here; https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3708/9232979979_95b7a9f9d5_b.jpg (This is one is from a collection of someone else) that there are NO country flags on the back of the UK release. That means that the instructions is only in the English language.

Have you seen that the EAN is the same?

How is this?

Edit: I am going to be really careful here to prevent a jinx, but Photobucket is working again. knocks on unpolished wood

I am unable to see the full size of the thelegacy.de back since I am not a member. But if the two do indeed share the same barcode, they can not be considered separate releases in my personal opinion. If other approvers think differently, please help this man.

But if the two do indeed share the same barcode, they can not be considered separate releases in my personal opinion.

It's not uncommon for UPC, EAN, ISBN to be reused for similar or even very different products. Having the same EAN is a good clue that you should look hard to make sure whether it is the same release, but it's not enough by itself to be sure.
