Would someone be able to help with a couple of names/roles?

Two voice roles:

お助け爺さん: There's a number of sites that talk about this (eg. here), but I'm not sure how to translate it.

砂漠の隠居: 砂漠 has 'desert' as the meaning and 隠居 has retirement/retired person. However I'm not sure what they're going for. And this is the Voice Actor for the お助け爺さん role. I couldn't find any matches and the given name doesn't seem to have a given reading: 城山知磬夫

Illustrator (packaging) whose name is 浅田隆 - I went with Takashi Asada.

Illustrator (manual front cover) whose name is 相馬高行 - I went with Takayuki Souma.
