I tried adding credits for a pending game submission, but due to the structure of the credits one person was credited 3 times. This person wasn't in the database yet. It looks like I had no option but to create 3 new persons with that same name, because there was no way to match the second and third instance to the one created for the first.

Yes, I'll improve this behavior. Do you think it is probably okay to assume that if there are three developers all currently marked as "This is a new person." when the credits are saved, then they are supposed to be the same new person? I think this should be safe enough in almost all cases, and it'll be the most convenient behavior for the user, I think.

That seems like a good base assumption.
I also notice you get duplications if submitting multiple sets of credits that include the same person, even if they're only included once. I submitted these two credits at the same time:

And ended up with two people for every name that overlaps in both games. I've gone in and manually deduped for now.
