Simon Hellwig co-founded the German publishing house Kalypso Media GmbH in the summer of 2006.
He was also the founder of Blackstar Multimedia, which later became Blackstar Interactive GmbH.
Hellwig passed away in 2022 at the age of 46. The game Railway Empire 2 (2023) is dedicated to his memory.
