Overview edit · view history
Autumn Moon Entertainment is a US game development studio founded in 2002 by Mike Kirchoff, initially with a single programmer and later with many ex-LucasArts employees on the team, especially artists.
The company's first title was the point-and-click adventure game A Vampyre Story, helmed by veteran, former LucasArts developer William V. Tiller. The debut title was released in November 2008. It was followed by another game in a completely different franchise, Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island, in 2009.
It lasted until November 2011 before confirmation on the status of other titles was provided. The sequel to the vampire game, tentatively titled A Vampyre Story 2: A Bat's Tale, is on hold and awaiting funding. It is entirely in the hands of Crimson Cow who owns the development and distribution rights. A Steam release for the first game was declined by Valve because a number of bugs needed to be fixed, and neither AME nor CC wants to put up the money for it. Both companies also disagree on major aspects of a possible conversion process of the first game for iOS devices, putting that project on hold. A new iPad game in the vampire series, with the working title A Vampyre Story: Year 1 - When Mona Met Froderick was also put on hold. Lead developer Tiller abandoned the project in favour of working on a first-person shooter with MunkyFun, part of the old Star Wars: The Force Unleashed team who worked on AME's game engine.
Finally, publisher dtp entertainment showed no interest in a sequel for Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island. According to Tiller the first game was probably break even for them. Autumn Moon however owns all IP and distribution rights to the pirate franchise, so with funds the sequel is still an option.
