Overview edit · view history
Rought Cookie is a mobile game development studio based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It was founded in 2008 as a joint venture between the game studio Khaeon Games B.V. (especially its parent company Creative ICG) and the technical studio Elements Interactive B.V.. The studio develops games for the iPhone and iPad, Android, and Windows Phone 7.
The company's debut title was Dougie Moo's Aqua Antic (2008) for Chillingo, followed by WaterWays (2009) for Taito. In the same year Star Defense (2009) was released by ngmoco, Inc. and in 2011 Rough Cookie made Pachinko Frenzy for the same publisher.
Next to its own projects, Rough Cookie co-developed a number of games or provided additional art. These include:* Space Invaders (2009, iPhone, Taito) * Touch Pet Dogs (2009, iPhone, ngmoco) * Touch Pet Dogs 2 (2010, iPhone, ngmoco) * Touch Pet Cats (2009, iPhone, ngmoco) * Epic Pet Wars (2010, iPhone, ngmoco, with Miraphonic) * GodFinger All-Stars (2010, iPhone/iPad, ngmoco) * Pulse: The Game (2010, iPhone, ngmoco, with Virtual Playground) * Titan Wars (2010, iPhone, ngmoco, with Miraphonic)
In May 2011 the studio was acquired by the mobile publisher ngmoco, Inc. who wanted to expand its presence in Europe. Rough Cookie and ngmoco had already been collaborating for a long time. Through the acquisition Rough Cookie is now owned by ngmoco's parent company DeNA and it is part of the Mobage brand.
