Overview edit · view history
Areo is an independent game development studio based in Dunedin, New Zealand. The studio started out as the technology company Areograph. In 2006 it began researching how a realistic gameplay environment could be created based on photographs. To prototype the technology, the studio Clocktower Games was formed and the design document of the Casebook series was created.
Eventually, both Aerograph and Clocktower Games merged into the company Aero. The studio has since released two of the six planned episodes in the Casebook criminal investigation series, where players explore photorealistic environment in real-time, and cutscenes are provided in full motion video.
