Overview edit · view history
Media Molecule is a UK-based game development studio founded in January 2006 by a small troupe of Lionhead Studios veterans: Mark Healey, Alex Evans, Dave Smith and Kareem Ettouney, who, bolstered by their work together on cult indie game Rag Doll Kung Fu, started working on new games together. The company's first title was LittleBigPlanet (PS3) released in November 2008 as one of Sony's PS3-exclusive flagship titles for the holiday season.
The company is a continuation of QI Creations, the name used by a large part of the current team who worked together on Rag Doll Kung Fu while still at Lionhead.
As of 2 March 2010, the company has been owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
