Some games support specific full screen option while others may support more of them. In the old days, Windows games had a resolution and by changing it the screen would change the resolution. Nowadays, many games are emulated, and even those that are native-Windows games offer both window and fullscreen modes where in window mode they show native resolution but in full screen mode they stretch to whatever the desktop resolution is. And in that, some games vary in that they preserve aspect ratio while others stretch to fit full screen.
