The HP 9800 platform documents games released on the HP 9800 family of computers. The computers were initially marketed by Hewlett-Packard as programmable calculators and later as desktop computers. They were a successor to the HP 9100 line of calculators. Models include the 9805A, 9810A, 9815A/S, 9820A, 9821A, 9825A/B, 9830A, 9831, 9835, and 9845. The HP 9800 computers were on the market from 1971 to 1984.
The earlier calculators had a single text line LED display and had optional thermal printer expansions. The later more advanced models like the HP 9845C (introduced in 1980) had a CRT display, even with support for color graphics. A BASIC language interpreter was included with the HP 9830A model introduced in 1972. It and other models also included a cassette tape drive.
