Mirage
Description
Mirage is a student project for the Futuregames Academy in Stockholm, Sweden. Set in a mysterious fantasy world, the player controls a swarm of glass shards through woods, a cave and abandoned city with a boss at the end of the game. The shards hover in the air and can be steered in any direction of the 3D environment. They are grouped together but can disperse to a larger cloud when there is danger. The goal is to navigate the environment, avoiding gusts of wind that smash the shards into walls and engaging enemies. This is done by locking on to them and then firing a shard. The amount of shards can be replenished by targeting green crystals.
The introduction story hints at a table about a boy apprentice of a witch who touches a magical, cursed mirror to look into the heart of a girl he loves. The mirror cracks and unveils a curse, as the boy is turned into glass.
