Magnetic: The Game of Games
Description
Magnetic: The Game of Games is a game played from a first-person perspective that allows the player's character to walk around a deserted island, finding sixteen different games to play. The island is made up out of photographs of a real tropical island. Each of the games has been created from scratch or is a modified version of a well-known classic, and each of the games requires the player to beat the computer AI at least eight times to consider the game "won". There is no backstory to the game to discover, and no real reward for completing the games, other than the satisfaction of working out the strategy required to win, and then seeing it through.
At the start of the game the player chooses one of the six available companions. These travel along with the player's character and explain the puzzles. While walking around, clicking is used to zoom in or out from items that provide clues. After a number of games have been solved, a magical transporter is introduced that takes the character directly to a puzzle. Once a puzzle has been completed, a gold frame appears around. It can still be revisited afterwards to play once more.
