Magia Kryształu

Moby ID: 52838

Description

Magia Kryształu (Magic of the Crystal) is an action platform game starring the mage Tannatos, out to get revenge on the demon Syrylak for long-time imprisonment. The goal of the game is to find Syrylak and defeat him.

The player controls Tannatos as he travels around the game world; similarly to a classic platform game, dexterity in jumping from platform to platform and in avoiding dangers is necessary. Touching an enemy or their projectile kills Tannatos instantly, and there are limited lives.

There are numerous items strewn around; Tannatos can carry up to three at once and use them wherever necessary to solve puzzles. Unnecessary items can be dropped in specific spots.

An indicator in the corner of the screen shows the progress made in the game so far.

Trivia

Music

The title music is a cover of the 1987 song Zaopiekuj się mną ("Take Care of Me") by the Polish rock band Rezerwat.

The in-game music is a cover of the 1986 song Marchewkowe Pole ("Carrot Field") by the Polish rock band Lady Pank.

Syrylak

The villain's name is the same as that of Jarosław Syrylak, who was then an employee of the publishing company L. K. Avalon. There was no ill will involved, though; the authors heard Syrylak's name while making a phone call to L. K. Avalon and later decided to borrow the "demonic" sounding name for their new game. They were unaware that it was the person's real last name and not just a pseudonym. After the game was released, the real Jarosław Syrylak threatened to sue the developers, forcing them to apologize over the phone.
