Rolling Thunder 2
Description official descriptions
A follow-up to the original Rolling Thunder, this is a "shoot-the-bad-guys-and-save-the-world" game. A terrorist group has taken out the world information flow and, as either a guy named Albert Ross or a woman named Leila, you must stop them. You can also get weapons that pack more of a punch than your ordinary hand gun. The original Arcade version of Rolling Thunder 2 supports two-player cooperative play.
The Genesis conversion introduces several new stages with new enemies and bosses. The original stages have been tweaked to provide more cover points and bonus items; also two new weapons were added - a laser and a flamethrower. The storyline cutscenes between the stages were expanded. This version introduces a password system that allows the players to continue from any previously visited stage.

Rolling thunder-- a nice little game
The Good
Perhaps the best thing about the RT2 is that is that the bad dudes get tougher to kill and the levels get harder.
Also the weapons are excellent, but some what limited.
The Bad
The music. At times it can be a bit of an annoyance, so i just turn the volume off!
The range of weapons is some what restricted. The only weapons you can have is the pistol you have when you start, a flame gun and a multiple burst energy weapon.
The Bottom Line
Outstanding.
If you liked the original Rolling thunder, have got a Sega Genesis and like shooting with guns, what can i say but BUY BUY BUY!!!!!

Trivia
Conversions
Sequel of Rolling Thunder was converted only to one home platform - Sega Mega Drive - which is absolutely stellar and not only an extremely successful translation of the arcade original but also an improvement on it in many areas. As well as an intuitive password system an option to listen to the soundtrack in isolation and the ability to actually select which character to play as in a briefing room screen. Additionally there is the implementation of gorgeous inter-level cutscenes that feature Manga-style graphics. Along with that there are three extra levels, bonus weapon power-ups with flamethrowers and laser cannons joining the machine gun present on the coin-op and the inclusion of several end-of-level guardians to match wits with.
