Description
Fullmetal Alchemist 2: Curse of the Crimson Elixi is a 3D cel-shaded action a role-playing video game based on the Fullmetal Alchemist anime and manga series. That follows the journey of the two brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric as they travel to the desert city of Lior where they have to deal with Father Cornello in search for leads on Philosopher's Stone. But there is more going on than meets the eye. It's a prequel to Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel, with 30 minutes of original animation exclusive to the game.
In the action RPG style gameplay, players control Edward while Alphonse tags along as a sidekick. Edward can use alchemy to transmute mundane objects into a variety of weapons for him or Al to use.

Great for fun boys and girls but probably nobody else.
The Good
It has everything you want in a Fullmetal Alchemist game. It has voice acting by the original cast, a new original story for the game itself, actually transmuting items into weapons and from the ground into weapons. It was also a free-roaming RPG with action elements to give it a new twist. It also has a DVD containing episodes from the series which was a plus.
The Bad
A pet peeve of mine is text boxes. We can move past that into the characters actually moving there lips while speaking! I also thought you could put more detail into the level design like Final Fantasy XII. The character development was also poorly executed. You have some growth it least from Edward or Alphonse. It might seem good for hardcore fans, but the casual gamer will be turned away.
The Bottom Line
Fans of the anime or manga will fall in love with the game. Even some RPG fans who want something different before something better comes out will be amused for awhile. Otherwise, everyone else will give it a pass.
