Description

Zork is set in the ancient ruins of an underground empire. You enter this world in search of adventure and wealth.

A classic game in every sense of the word, Zork was ported over from mainframes in the late 1970s and started the dynasty commonly known as "text adventures" (although the proper term for such by die-hard fans is Interactive Fiction).

Infocom Difficulty Level: Standard

Alternate Titles

  • "Zork I: The Great Underground Empire" -- Re-release title
  • "Zork I" -- Renamed title (after second and third Zork games were released)
