Booty Juggler
Description
Booty Juggler is a simple, fast-paced game by UK-based illustrator Robin Davey. It is one of twelve projects commissioned for the launch of Channel 4's animation portal 4mations.tv.
Players control a patched octopus as he juggles items while protecting his gains against bombs. The octopus can carry six items, one for each arm, which need to be juggled when other items drop down. As such, items constantly need to be launched to make room for new ones. Players can click on an item to throw it or use keys on the keyboard to control them.
Items leave behind a colour trail that shows where it will be heading; near (black), middle (red) and far (blue). Points are earned by catching items and fish. Grabbing a heart will restore the octopus' health. Items that are missed or pass an arm that already holds an item, drop down to the bottom of the screen. Bombs can damage the octopus. To avoid explosion, they need to be caught and then thrown into the air before the timer reaches zero. Bombs exploding while holding them make the octopus lose his arm. He then has to wait until a hook drops down before he can start using it again. When a certain amount of damage has been done, the game is over.
The game sports a graphical style inspired by vintage poster and animation design.
