Assassin 2015
Description official description
Jack Butcher is a former soldier, and now an assassin working for the government. His contact Sabre has a new assignment for him: take out Jacques Arnoud, head of Microkomm and an associate of the Red Storm Rebellion. They are planning to use Microkomm's new government contract to fund a rebellion, and the government wants him dead. This should have been an easy assignment - hit and run, escaping through the roof. However, seconds after Jack shoots Arnoud, a guard bursts through the door. After narrowly avoiding capture by the guard, a bomb blows the stairways to the roof. Jack is stuck in a building crawling with guards and security drones who are out to get him.
Assassin 2015 is a plot-driven 3D first-person shooter focusing on combat rather than exploration. Opening the wrong door or going the wrong way will usually result in the player character's death, as he will encounter a horde of guards or drones. The player listens to the instructions of Jett Jones, the protagonist's only outside support, and follows her directives. The gameplay is mostly linear and involves traversing corridors and rooms and shooting the enemies within. However, the game features some other scenes, such as running away from a giant robot and an elevator shootout.

The best action movie I ever played.
The Good
Assassin 2015 plays like a good action movie. The plot unfolds, as you move around the building, shooting guards, droids and doors, and running away from the G350.
The game follows the classic action movie plot with an anti-hero, political intrigue and betrayal.
The video scenes in the game, especially the amazing introduction, are of very high quality, which is surprising for such an obscure title. Blue Sky obviously used a lot of motion capture to make them, which wasn't very common in 1996 as it is today. The music is a direct hit, changing from classic piano riddled film-noire music in the introduction sequence, to pulsing electronic music for the action sequences. The voice acting is really something to hear, one of the best I have ever heard.
Playing the game is fun - a no brainer, really, on the easy levels - and is diverse enough to keep you interested.
The Bad
As a game, Assassin 2015 fails. The game is pretty easy, and you can finish it in a few hours. It is completely repetitive, and there are no surprises in playing it a second time. Paying $30 for such a game is two much.
The music in the game itself (not in the cut-scenes) is MIDI music, which just sounds horrible. I can't figure out why they didn't use MOD music, since the 3D engine isn't very rich, and there should have been enough CPU time for some MOD music.
The Bottom Line
Assassin 2015 plays just like a good action movie: it's fast, funny, not too cerebral, and is over in two hours.
If you can find it in the discount bin, borrow it from a friend, or rent it somewhere - it is well worth your time.

Trivia
Cutscenes
The game utilizes some tricks, such as having a cut-scene between two rooms on the same level, so the two rooms can have different palettes, allowing for greater color diversity.
Development
All the game's art was created using Lightwave. Then the textures were imported to the game, to maintain a consistent feel to the game and the cut-scenes.
Making of
On the game CD there's an .AVI describing the making of the Assassin 2015, including interviews with the game's director Matt McDonald and lead programmer Rich Karpp.
