The All New Family Feud
Description official descriptions
If you've ever seen the game show you know what the game is like: two families compete against each other and need to guess the five popular answers to questions like "Name today's top female singer". The amount of people (always a hundred total) who answered the same thing as the family equals the rewarded points. So for example if 20 persons said "Madonna", the family would get 20 points when guessing it. There are three to five rounds and in the end the family with the most points win.

The Good
The strength of the game is the heart of the game - mundane trivia. Trying to guess at how other people responded to survey questions is challenging and fun! Particularly, the rapid-fire nature of the timed "Fast Money" round.
Families can be customized a bit (able to name each individual family member), and that's an advancement from the previous FF title when last name was all you could create.
The Bad
This game was the follow-up to the original version released 2 years previously, yet it takes some major steps backwards. Firstly, the CPU is far too extreme in their responses - either they sweep the board and get all the right answers, including obscure ones... or, they give nonsense responses that make no sense and give the round away to the player.
There are noticeable spelling mistakes in the software, in questions and responses. This is pretty unprofessional, and for a game that relies on text-entry, you would think spelling would be a priority.
Like the previous version, the content of the questions/answers now appear dated. For example, one question is "Name today's top female singers", with answers such as Barbara Mandrell, Whitney Houston, and Barbra Streisand! You really have to take an 80's mindset when playing.
There are inaccuracies in this version that are not faithful to the tv show. The inability to pass play to the other team when you win a face-off is inaccurate. You also cannot pass on a question during the Fast Money round.
Load times are strangely an issue in this version. Each screen takes time to load with the message: "Please wait while the ____ family comes onstage". Was this really straining graphics cards of the time?
The Bottom Line
Family Feud is a really fun game, but unfortunately this version seems like a rush job that should be passed over. The previous version from 1987 is actually a lot more fun, with faster load times and less inaccuracy, yet the same quaint nostalgia.
