Tom and Jerry in War of the Whiskers

Pioneers of slapstick Tom and Jerry yuck it up in a fighting game that delivers more laughs than a pie in the face.

When watching this classic duo duke it out on Saturday morning, you've no doubt chosen a favorite to root for. Despite your preference, you'll have a blast bashing your buddies in the multiplayer modes.

The Challenge mode lets a single player fight through themed levels. Eventually you'll meet a special boss such as Frankenmouse, whose Jekyll and Hyde routine will have you seeing stars.

Familiar locations such as a construction site, junkyard and kitchen are filled with items to throw at your enemies. Hazards that take a toll on the toons include sharks prowling the beach and a sudden avalanche at the ski lodge.

In addition to the standard combat moves, each player has a Berserk Bar that will gradually fill when dealing damage. When Berserk, a player will briefly double his attack strength.

Bottom Line

Classic cartoon elements permeate the entire game. The simplistic combat is most fun when played with a couch full of human opponents.
