Frogger's girlfriend has been kidnapped by a nefarious crew of evildoers and he must leap to her aid.

In Frogger's Adventures: The Rescue--Frogger's second GCN adventure--the famous frog has grown up and gotten a girlfriend. The only problem is, she's been kidnapped! It's up to you to guide the green lad with mad hops through seven worlds packed with obstacles and enemies, all to save his girlfriend from the clutches of evil.

Though Frogger's Adventures is loosely based on the ancient SEGA arcade original, it shares only the "hop-n-dodge" gameplay in common with it's old-school ancestor. Sweet GCN graphics bring the lush swamp settings to life, giving Frogger a chance to frolic in style. The control system can sometimes be aggravating, but it makes up for it with clever bosses and the unique action-puzzle style of gameplay.

Bottom Line

Adult Frogger fans may enjoy Frogger's Adventure, but it should be noted that the game's style and story are geared towards a young crowd that's unlikely to have even heard of Frogger's legendary highway-crossin' hijinks of the '80s. The controls and graphics may be only average, but hardcore Frogger fans and young tadpoles alike will still enjoy the addictive gameplay.
