Games based on the originally French comical series of the fictional Gaulish warrior "Asterix" introduced in 1959 (Adventures of Asterix the Gaul), by written by
René Goscinny and drawings by
Albert Uderzo.
The games revolve around the heroic adventures of Asterix and his sidekick "Obelix", the menhir delivery man assisted by the valiant Dogmatix, his dog (translation of names may vary per country) protecting the only Gaulish village unconquered by Roman conquest under Julius Caesar, with the help of the "magic potion" brewed by the village druid, Getafix.
