Hey ! What happened to that other thread we all loved so much ?! 8) Oh well. The Raconteurs - Salute Your Solution is one that's stuck in my head.
(Edited by DJP Mom (10020), May 08, 2008) Re: The music stuck in your head DJP Mom (10020), May 08, 2008 Looks like the music thread got zapped, somebody got tired of our iphone/ipod spammer dropping in? :(
Damn. And it was so close reaching 200 posts.
Why axe a whole thread because of one spammer, there was some quality stuff in that thread. Anyway what happened to the Cat, hope it is alright :-).
Cat's fine, only under a temporary Knytt Stories spell :)
I just remembered ! I first learned how to link on that forum ! Ahh...how silly I was trying to copy url's by hand. XD But anyway, since it was axed, I'll repost the last song that was on it: Datarock - Computer Camp Love .
(Edited by DANIEL HAWKS ! (795), May 10, 2008) Re: The music stuck in your head DANIEL HAWKS ! Man, this is beautiful.

(Edited by DANIEL HAWKS ! (795), May 22, 2008) Re: The music stuck in your head DANIEL HAWKS ! (795), May 21, 2008 Ting Tings - Great DJ . This song is the most catchy thing I've heard in a while.
Warcraft II had some of my favorite music of the series. HOMM2 is also a classic fantasy strategy soundtrack.

Then of course there's Johnny Hodges and the Duke.. Also, my favorite racing game soundtrack. (Edited by St_Martyne Re: The music stuck in your head St_Martyne I'll bet you my PS2 that this Earth doesn't know a man who hasn't got this song stuck in his head after completing Katamari Damacy.
Ahh....!!!! I had just finally gotten that song out of my head, now it's back again!

Wow. I've been watching the Play! series of orchestral video game music concerts on YouTube, and there are some -amazing- medleys up there! First and foremost has to be Zelda--unlike Kondo's Mario score (which sounds awkward in orchestra), this is some great stuff. Especially the Dark World theme from LTTP!:
Zelda medley at Stockholm Chrono Trigger (with some Cross tunes thrown in) is no slouch either! (Edited by Drunken Irishman (1236), Jun 02, 2008) Re: The music stuck in your head Drunken Irishman (1236), Jun 02, 2008 Sigh... I'm feeling sentimental again.

I finally found a song I've been looking for for years ! Yeah Yeah Yeahs - maps !!! This song has haunted me for years, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I didn't even know it's name until now ! This is THE song that introduced me to alternative !
Huh, I thought my last frantic post would have gotten more attention. 8)
(Edited by Drunken Irishman (1236), Jun 03, 2008) Re: The music stuck in your head Drunken Irishman (1236), Jun 03, 2008 It says that the video is not available in my country. But is this the song you mean? If it is the same song, then I'm glad to tell you that I'm enjoying it very much.
Same song, different video.
(Edited by DJP Mom (10020), Jun 09, 2008) Re: The music stuck in your head DJP Mom (10020), Jun 08, 2008 It's 92° here in New York, only going to get worse in the next couple of days - summer has arrived in temperature if not in name.(OK, for you funny Centigraders thats 34°...I think. :)) I would go crazy if I ever saw 92° in any thermometer around here. I would expect metal melting. =P
Heh. Funny Fahrenheit people. ;-)

It's gotten about 91 here at least once. Summers are always hot in mountain areas for some reason. (Edited by Drunken Irishman (1236), Jun 09, 2008) Re: The music stuck in your head Drunken Irishman (1236), Jun 09, 2008 So what's 92 degrees of Fahrenheit in Celsius? Hmm... it's 33 celsius. That's really hot. We've had a dry sunny 24 degree weather for a month now. More than a month. Ever since it stopped snowing in the late March, we've had nothing but hot weather. I accidentally dropped a match into the grass and it caught fire quite quickly. It was already big when I managed to distinguish it. 24 degrees of Celsius is 75 for you funny Fahrenheit people. It's usually a soft weather period in June. Soft sun with soft rain... something you can enjoy. Oh well, at least the white nights are here (only like 1-2 hours of darkness at nighttime, and even that is not exactly dark). Provides really awesome lighting when wandering around in nature at nights.
This album are really stuck in my head:

It's gotten about 91 here at least once. Summers are always hot in mountain areas for some reason. I hate being the one to explain the joke, but the thing is that 92° in Celsius is something insane, you'd expect watter boiling at some altitudes. The metal melting part was a hyperbole, the only metal melting at that temperature would be Phosphorous (at 44° Celsius). As for the weather here, it's currently 25° Celsius (77° Funny). By this time of the year one would expect much lower temperatures (you know, winter down here starts on 21 of this month), but you know, global warming sucks. ![]() chirinea Wrote:

To add to the confusion I have to ask "since when Phosphorous has become a metal?". (Edited by chirinea (20381), Jun 09, 2008) Re: The music stuck in your head chirinea (20381), Jun 09, 2008 Since I'm dumb and missed chemistry classes. =P I was checking melting point tables in the internet and saw phosphorous among them. I thought it was weird, but anyway, it was the only in the table which would melt at 92° Celcius. The thing is that Phosphorous is used in alloys.Besides, if it was a metal, it wouldn't be the only. We have metals lke mercury which are liquid at room temperature, for instance. So I'm sorry, won't happen anymore. ![]() chirinea Wrote:

As a fellow guitarman can I suspect you're thinking strings here? ;-) Anyway, it's actually very weird for me to think of Phosphor as of alloy component. Given my chosen line of work (production of pig iron), the first thing I had to learn is to always keep levels of Sulfur and Phosporos at the minimum, since they are known for making iron and steel extremely brittle. It's like a rule number one. Uhm... where were we? I meant 91 degrees Farenhieght ! I suppose I should have made that clear ! XD

Does that sound more German than Fahrenheit or is it just me? :-) Nah dude, everybody understood you meant Fahrenheit and Mom too. As I said, it was a joke... ah, forget it. =)
Well anyway, here's another song stuck in my head. Modest Mouse -Sleepwalking .
Behold the most awesome music video ever made.
Woah, Knorkator. The most awesome band in the world of course. Their live shows are just like that video, btw (I've been to three). And the lyrics fit as well.
(Edited by DJP Mom (10020), Jun 09, 2008) Re: The music stuck in your head DJP Mom (10020), Jun 09, 2008 To further confuse the issue, it was 97º F today (or 36º C) and the schools actually closed because of the heat, and have already announced an early closing for tomorrow! I find this a little excessive, but then, it's not me on the third floor of the high school with the big east-facing windows :PZovni, your video is indeed awesome, but not as awesome as this! Haha! I stand corrected Mom!

Love Alice Cooper, we used to play School's Out in my band. But when it comes to Alice Cooper and the Muppets, I'm more this one. Awww! Okay I'm currently most haunted by... the Estonian Pop Idol final. I'm sorry, but that girl was just too awesome. She also won. Yeah, in this case it's not exactly a song that haunts me but it's the singer. Her performance of Alanis Morisette's Uninvited. Awesomeness redefined! Yeah, I'm on an emotional high right now. Another song she sang I'm haunted by - Laula mu laulu helisev hääl..." Roughly translated it's "Sing my song my voice" And my third or first favorite, depending on the mood. Ma tahan olla Öö (I want to be the Night). And the fourth favorite - Strangers in the Night Actually, most of the memorable (or my favorite) performances were by her. The most notable is probably Lacuna Coil's Swamped. I also liked Underneath your Clothes and Hello Fallen. Wow. I'm going to be high for a while here. So.... do all europeans like those reality/contest pop idol-things?

NO! ![]() Zovni Wrote:
So.... do all europeans like those reality/contest pop idol-things?
No. OTOH, do all South Americans like cock rock or industrial €-trash for clubbing? Just an innocent question really.and uhm... cock rock? Well gee Mr.! This Internet thing sure is complicated :PAnyways, so that's what it is. I always called that hair metal and unfortunately I guess its about as popular here as in the rest of the civilized, post-80's world. Which is a shame, the world needs more bands like Metal Skool... Could do without the tights though. I don't see what's wrong with Pop Idol. I can't honestly believe that someone would respond this dryly after watching all of that. I guess you didn't click on any of the links. At least check the Swamped song and comment on that. Don't automatically assume that everything I like is crap.
This band has been in my head for a while, but now it's taken over my brain !!! Los Campesinos - Death To Los Campesinos! .
Well I never assumed that, but to be honest around these parts those TV music shows and their stars are generally regarded with zero credibility and thought to be the worst example of mass-produced, commercial crap. No, I didn't click on all the links but most seem to confirm this: a pretty (ok, very pretty) chick singing covers and generally easy-listening stuff.I will say that she does a very good impression (vocal-wise) of Cristina Scabbia on the swamped song, but again: Lacuna Coil is about as mainstream as you can go metal-wise these days. (Edited by Drunken Irishman (1236), Jun 11, 2008) Re: The music stuck in your head Drunken Irishman (1236), Jun 11, 2008 So you only watched two songs :P. Whatever, for me she's an inspiration and a gift of God. It's in the show's nature for them to sing other songs, and I believe she will deliver in original songs too. And what's wrong with mainstream and easy-listening?This reminds me that I'm doing a live performance tomorrow too. Not much, just a private event. In fact, if you'd compare what I'm doing tomorrow with Ted's Band from Scrubs you wouldn't be too far off. But that doesn't mean I'm supposed to deliver a crappy performance. And I hope to bring half of those emotions that Jana brought to me. I'm still nervous though since it's my first time before an audience. Anyway, here's Ted's Band from Scrubs. Oh boy. okay... forget anything I said and good luck I guess.
(Edited by Kyler.ural (1856), Jun 18, 2008) Re: The music stuck in your head Kyler.ural (1856), Jun 12, 2008 Definitely for me now it's Dixie Chicks and their album Taking The Long Way.
(Edited by DJP Mom (10020), Jun 16, 2008) Re: The music stuck in your head DJP Mom (10020), Jun 16, 2008 I had never heard of Kate Fenner until I read about her contribution to Mr. Clough's architectural project - it's pretty romantic that they fell in love during the house design! Damn, it's been five days since the concert in Kyiv, yet I still can't get this song out of my head. The Beatles - I've Got A Feeling Bauhaus - Bela Lagosi's Dead
Happy St. John's Eve to everyone!St. John's Eve is, as far as I know, not really well-known, outside of neo-pagan circles and Scandinavia (and places near it), in the rest of the world, but around here we have celebrated summer solstice ever since time began. Since the sun is up all night long (not really, but it's light outside in midnight) I'm going to do my fair share of fairy searching today. Or I'll be looking for the fern's blossom, haven't decided yet. Pretty much the same thing. Anyway, at the lightest day in the year, every estonian is going to make bonfire's all night long. I don't know why though. Probably had some meaning long ago. I was hoping to share some good midsummer eve song with everyone of you, but couldn't find any. So Scarborough Fair has to do. Still stuck in my head !
And I am having my birthday today too! So... Well, that's it. ;-)
Happy birthday !
Thanks! Birthday song was the first I started my day with! It's still very sweet of you, Kabushi! Thanks.

Weezer's been on my head for quite some time now (just check my Last.fm profile), but I guess this song sums it up. Be sure to check the lyrics.
I was just humming a few DDR/Dancemania songs.
Yeah, I like those games, surprisingly.
I always have a Rock Band or GH song stuck in my head. Usually TTFAF by Dragonforce or Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria.
Pure Reason Revolution - Nimos & Tambos. Not sure how I managed to miss this band back in '06.
They might be cute but their dance moves just don't compare.
Why is it I get songs stuck in my head that I can't understand a word of ? YELLE "JE VEUX TE VOIR" .
This one's been in my head for a while, but I couldn't find the name of the band untill now. Crystal Castles - Courtship Dating .
(Edited by Sciere Re: The music stuck in your head Sciere also known as the song Timbaland ripped off. I'm finally going to see them early August, they cancelled their Belgian show earlier this year. Alice Practice and Crimewave are some of my favourites.

Brilliant Eddie Floyd (rock) cover - Dead Snakes w/BBQ - Big Bird
That was a great cover of a timeless song. Thanks.
Kate Nash - Skeleton Song. Lovely song and lovely cockney accent.
Information Society's latest album: Apocrypha. Two CDs. The first one is the band's original EPs, the second is a bunch of unreleased songs and live performances. Well worth the $25 I paid for the set. I've recently discovered the Pixies. Veloria and Where Is My Mind ? have attached themselves to my brain as of late. 8)
I just love this song. And the video gets really good in the end, but I've always pictured something different for this song.
I think it fits like a glove. For me, the lyrics were implying something like this. And they even worked in the sound of the electrocardiogram perfectly :-)
