Marcia was born Marcia Mortensen, in August of 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She grew up in the Greater Seattle Area of Washington state and graduated from Kentridge Highschool, going onto Brigham Young University as a Fine Arts student and graduating with a Bachelors in 1976.

Working from home to be able to care for her children. Marcia starting working as a layout artist and later as a storyboard artist for Marvel Comics through Zam Studios. She also worked as a printer for Jenni Christensen, an illustrator for a college Text book on flower arranging by Nora Roberts, and was applying for jobs as a computer artist.

Marcia was hired by Brightstar Technology in 1993 as their lead artist. In the process of working at Brightstar, Marcia was called upon to design, a small game that was part of the educational programs she was directing the artwork for. This lead to her chance to become a Game Designer after the company was purchased by Sierra Online.

Getting a chance to move into Project management, Marcia started working for the Home Products line at Sierra, doing programs like Mastercook, and Garden Architect. When Sierra closed their Home Products division Marcia moved on to become a Project Manager at Primus Data Systems.

Later in 2002 Marcia had a chance to realise her dreams of owning a Bed and Breakfast down in Mexico and Retired from the computer industry and is now enjoying a slightly different paced life at Mayan Beach Garden Boutique Inn, in El Placer Mexico. She is working on her painting, and still keeps up with her Computer skills designing and maintaining their website at www.mayanbeachgarden.com .
