Joseph ChangDeveloper BIO
As a avid video game player and fan of computer-based RPGs, Joseph was excited to get an invitation to be part of a small local beta test focus group for the original "
Baldur's Gate" by
BioWare /
Interplay Entertainment in 1998. This sparked his interest in working in computer and video game development.
Joseph later applied and began employment at
Interplay Entertainment in May 2000 and was put on the "
Icewind Dale" project (not credited) in the QA department in
Shanna Takayama's team.
After Icewind Dale, he was moved to
Damien Evans' team for the "
Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn" project, which included a trip to
BioWare for a three-week temporary stint up in Edmonton, Canada.
Later projects included "
Sacrifice" and "
Star Trek: Starfleet Command Volume II - Empires at War", both still under
Damien Evans.
Joseph terminated his employment with
Interplay Entertainment on the last work day before the winter break in December 2000 (to which HR then revoked his access to the company Christmas party that night) as he was still statued as a temporary employee and would not be paid during the mandatory time off. Shortly after his former co-workers came back to work in January, the first round of the mass layoffs began.
Since then Joseph has worked off and on with the Disneyland Resort in various roles, GameStop as an Assistant Store Manager, and with Mosaic Sales Solutions as the Field Merchandising Specialist for the Microsoft Entertainment and Devices division for a majority of the retail stores in Orange County, California. Currently he is back at the Disneyland Resort in the In-Market Sales department at Walt Disney Travel as a Disney Desk Representative and Hotel Concierge. He is also working towards finishing up getting his degree in Hotel Management.
